Sawtooth Oak (Quercus acutissima)

As a fast growing tree in it's youth, it makes and attractive shade tree with dark green foliage in the summer turning to yellow/golden brown in the fall. Adaptable to all soil types except alkaline. Spread and mature height of 40 to 50 foot.

Scarlet Oak (quercus coccinea)

Fast growing and tolerates a wide range of soils. Leaves are dark, glossy green on top, pale green on the bottom, scarlet in the fall. Mature height of 60 to 80 foot.

The largest of the oaks. It has dark green leaves on top, pale green on the bottom turning brown to red in the fall. Mature height of 80 to 115 foot.

One of the most attractive native trees around. Summer leaves are a dark green with a high-gloss appearance, but the most spectacular part of this tree is the fall foliage with many shades of yellow, orange, bright red, purple or scarlet that may appear on the same branch. Bark matures to medium gray and resembles alligator hide. Fruit is bluish-black and is loved by many birds. Makes a strong specimen tree. Grows 30'-50' high, with a 20'-30' spread.
